About Sunfolk Apparel

  • Sunfolk Apparel is an Australian-owned family brand, born on the coast of Queensland. We create sun-safe clothing for kids (and families) that’s practical, protective, and on-trend. Our pieces are made from lightweight UPF50+ fabric – designed for little adventurers who love the outdoors.

  • We’re proudly based in Bundaberg/Bargara, Queensland. All orders are packed with love at our HQ and shipped Australia-wide.

  • Yes! Most of our graphics and prints are designed in-house. We also occasionally purchase commercial licences from independent creators whose patterns we love, then thoughtfully incorporate them into our Sunfolk Apparel designs.

Orders & Payments

  • We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Afterpay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay.

  • We aim to pack orders quickly, so unfortunately we’re unable to make changes once your order has been confirmed. Please check all details carefully before checking out.

Shipping

  • We charge a really affordable flat rate of $7.95 Australia-wide.

    • Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days.
    • Standard shipping takes 3–7 business days (up to 10 for remote areas).
    • You’ll receive tracking info via email once your order is on the way.

  • Yes – we offer free shipping on all orders over $150.

  • Currently, we ship Australia-wide only. Stay tuned – international shipping is something we’re working towards!

Returns & Exchanges

  • You can return your item within 28 days, as long as it’s in original condition – unworn, unwashed, with swing tags attached and in original packaging. For change of mind, a $7.95 return postage fee is deducted from your refund. Faulty/incorrect items are fully refunded with no fee.

    • For change of mind, wrong size, or preference: The customer pays a flat $7.95 return fee, deducted from your refund.
    • For faulty or incorrect items: Sunfolk Apparel covers the full cost of return shipping.

  • Use our Returns Portal. You’ll receive a prepaid return label by email within 1–2 business days. Please reuse your original hero mailer (follow the instructions printed on the bag to open, so the mailer can be reused in case of a return).

Product Information

  • Head to our Size Guide for detailed measurements (including chest, sleeve, and length). Please allow for a tolerance of +/- 1cm. Our shirts are designed for 'age groups', so if your child is in between sizes, we suggest sizing down - as our sizes are a relaxed fit. However, ALWAYS measure and check our size guide to see which size would be best suited.

  • Our premium 165gsm mesh fabric is engineered for comfort and protection. It features superior UPF 50+ sun protection, blocking over 98% of harmful UV rays. The lightweight, breathable mesh construction ensures maximum airflow for all-day dryness and comfort. Our garments are made from premium 165gsm mesh fabric, that is engineered for comfort and protection. Thanks to its unique fibre structure, polyester naturally absorbs harmful UV rays in a way that’s similar to how sunscreen works. The fibres are also treated with UV absorbers (similar to those used in mineral sunscreens) that help block, reflect, and scatter UVA and UVB rays, increasing the UPF rating of the fabric and reducing the risk of sunburn and long-term sun damage.

  • The prints are applied using eco-friendly digital inkjet technology with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (Class I) certified inks, guaranteeing they are safe for skin contact, making them ideal for sensitive skin and children's wear.

  • No – UPF protection is built into the fabric, not a coating. It won’t wash off, but correct care will help maintain the fabric’s integrity over time.

  • The shirts and rompers are designed here in Australia, in sunny Queensland, and are manufactured in China.
