• Wash garments before first wear.
• Always check your garment before wear to ensure there are no loose threads and the buttons are secure (all of our products go through extensive quality assurance checks, but it can't hurt to double-check before wear).
• Always follow the care label sewn into your Sunfolk Apparel piece.
• Rinse after outdoor play to remove sunscreen, sand, or salt.
• Avoid rough surfaces (rocks, Velcro, pool edges) that may cause snagging.

🧼 Washing

• Cold, gentle machine wash with like colours.
• Use a mild detergent – avoid bleach, fabric softeners, or harsh chemicals.
• Wash inside out to protect prints and colours.
• Do not soak or wring.

🌬 Drying

• Line dry in the shade to help maintain fabric integrity and UPF protection.
• Do not tumble dry – excessive heat may shrink or damage polyester fibres.
• Avoid prolonged direct sunlight when drying, as it may fade colours.

👕 Ironing & Heat

• Our garments generally don’t require ironing – the lightweight polyester fabric resists wrinkles.
• Do not iron.
• Do not dry clean.

🌊 Sun Safety & Longevity

• While our pieces are UPF50+ rated, always combine with other sun-safe practices: hats, sunscreen, and shade where possible.
• Over time, heavy wear, stretching, and chlorine/salt exposure may reduce the UPF rating. Following these care steps will help maintain protection.
